Differentiate organic food and clean food

Many people believe in clean food, but some trust in organic food. So what is the difference between clean food and organic  food?

Clean food

According to experts, clean food is food obtained from farming sources, still using “inputs” as chemicals such as pesticides, synthetic chemicals … But the use of chemicals is done properly. The process of leaving products to market only has toxic residues below the permitted level, not harmful to consumers’ health. They are also called “safe” products.
Organic  food

In ASEAN countries, organic food concept is not new, but it is not yet widely known and people have not fully understood its meaning and its importance for their life and health. When asked: Being a wise mother, so do you know Organic food? ½ of them all shook their heads and mistakenly said: Oh, it’s just clean food.

However, that is not so. It is not from word of mouth or exaggerated words that are tested from reality by the hands and minds of food researchers.

Organic food is food including vegetables, fruits, cereals, meat, dairy products, eggs, honey … And organic food called Organic food must be collected from production sources. Do not use any chemicals.

Production of organic food requires implementation in a secure ecosystem, not near industrial plants, not near national highways, in the ground and water sources with metal residues and natural poisons. Water sources for irrigation and breeding must be from clean well water, not river water.

How organic food is labeled?

As a rule, products with Organic standards will be labeled “Certified Organic Foods” such as Organic formula, nutritious powder for Organic, meat, eggs, vegetables and Organic fruits.

This certificate is sticked on the product when and only if the product: does not contain hormones, does not contain herbicides, contains no chemical fertilizers, is not genetically modified, is not sterilized, has no aroma ,coloring products and preservatives. All Organic foods are subject to constant and rigorous control from the beginning to the end.

And foods that are labeled Organic must be controlled and tested by competent and reputable organizations in this field.

Process to make organic sugar

Sugar is one of the most commonly used spices. However, in front of the matrices of common names such as “sugar”, “common sugar”, “organic sugar” confused housewife. They do not know what to choose to ensure the good health of the family.

Unlike other organic foods, the process of producing organic sugars is different from conventional sugar. In particular, the whole process ensures there are no synthetic chemicals or artificial compounds or additives.

There is a line of equipment and workshops that meet the requirements of food safety regulations when producing organic food. For packaging products must be capable of recycling, biodegradation, especially friendly to the environment. Especially, the packaging of organic sugar products does not contain any disinfectants or residues of chemicals and does not affect the quality of the products.

The process of organic sugar production begins with the use of organic sugar cane material that is washed, chopped and crushed to extract sugar cane juice. Next, the juice is boiled, rotated through the machine and dried into crystal sugar. Next, remove the molasses (a dark brown liquid in sugar cane juice) with steam to keep the crystal. As a result, the organic sugar product is light brown and contains all the nutrients such as iron, calcium, vitamin B6, chromium.

Meanwhile, conventional sugar production processes can use lime and sulfur dioxide is used to remove impurities and sometimes leave a small amount of sulfur in the production process. Not only that, in order to make the sugar more white, the production process also relies on the help of activated carbon or other toxic coal. Right after that, to remove the molasses also need to extract two times to help white sugar.

As a result, the most distinctive of organic and conventional sugar production processes can be seen. Specifically, the process normally produces higher purity refined sugar, up to 99.99% purity – indicating “clean”. On the other hand, which is labeled “contaminated”, organic sugar is composed of minerals that have not been removed, all of which are good for the body.

There are of course some plants that are difficult while others are a lot easier and recommended for new greenhouse enthusiasts. With the list below, we look at some of the most recommended plants for those who are just getting into greenhouses. These plants are also a great choice for those simply looking for plants that grow easily, looks great and don’t require a whole lot of attention.

Peppers

Peppers are brilliant for greenhouses as they simply love the heat and thrive with moist conditions. Adding these to your greenhouse is sure to be an attractive sight, especially when mixing up the colours. There are many different types of peppers, and they grow easily without taking over, making it our most recommended greenhouse starting plant.

Tomatoes

Tomatoes is yet another plant that loves the heat from a greenhouse, making it a perfect combination with the peppers mentioned above. However, to avoid cross pollination, don’t put them too close together. Tomatoes require more water than peppers so be sure to pay just a bit more attention to these plants for the best results.

Bamboo

Bamboo isn’t only beautiful, it’s also very usable for various things, even in the greenhouse. The great thing about bamboo is that it grows really easily and doesn’t require much attention at all. In fact, just having a few seeds planted in a section of the greenhouse is bound to deliver amazing results. Bamboo doesn’t require a whole lot of water, and it likes the heat of a greenhouse as well, making it the perfect starting plant.

Herbs

We all love some type of herb, whether it’s rocket, parsley or some other herb that you enjoy booking with, these are some of the easiest things to grow, especially in a greenhouse. They don’t mind the heat, grow really fast and look great in any section of your greenhouse. Even if you’re not a major fan of herbs, there are well worth adding as they really add a unique touch.

Swiss Chard

Swiss chard is something everyone should grow each year as it brings such as interesting colour to the greenhouse while also offering a highly nutritious addition to any meal. In combination with the plants mentioned above, swiss chard is a great addition as it doesn’t need a whole lot of attention either. However, give it some space and attention if you want it to look great, especially when you get your hands on rainbow swiss chard.

How to Start your Own Miniature Greenhouse

Even though greenhouses can get very big and provide lucrative business opportunities, the best place to start is with a miniature variation, giving you an idea of what it’s all about while also adding the advantage of growing your favourites throughout the year.

Starting small is a lot cheaper as well since you wouldn’t need to set up the massive greenhouse, get the soil and take the time to plant everything. Besides, if you are new to gardening, starting small is ideal as it features you all the basics that becomes a must with a bigger greenhouse.

Clear Bin with Lid

To start, you will need a plastic bin that’s see-through and has a lid that seals well. You can start with just about any size bin, but don’t go for a small bin as this would limit the amount your plants can grow, and you run the risk of having to transfer your garden to a new bin after a few months.

Instead, use a big bin that you can still carry around and easily find a spot for in the garden. Of course, this would depend on how much space you have available and what you’re planning to grow in the bin. Some would also use this method to just get the plants to start growing before it’s transferred to a bigger greenhouse.

Ensure the lid of the bin isn’t flat and has the ability to hold some gravel. If you find a bin with a lid that’s at least an inch deep, it’s perfect as this would become the floor of your greenhouse. Alternatively, you can use smaller pots to hold your plants inside, meaning you would require a deeps lid.

Drill Holes

Drill multiple holes (about 2 inches apart) at the bottom of the container so water can enter the greenhouse. Also, add a few holes in the lid so water can drain out eventually and finally, you’ll need some holes along the sides of the container that allows a breeze to flow through the container.

The hole sizes don’t have to be any specific size, but we recommend keeping it under a quarter inch. Be sure to pay attention to the bin and drill bit you’ve chosen as some containers would crack easily and break under pressure. Take your time, drill slowly and you shouldn’t have any problems.

Add your Plants

Depending on the plants you’re growing, set your new greenhouse in the garden where it gets enough sun and heat to accommodate your plants. The lid would go at the bottom of the chosen spot and you can simply place your plants on top of it in their own pots.

Be sure to provide the plants with some water as you would with planting them into a regular garden before adding the container and closing it up.
